A Long Flight North for Great FishingBob recalls his best Canadian fishing trip, taken with a group of men in 1975. They sat on duffel bags aboard an old DC-9 and flew one thousand miles north of Minneapolis, almost to the Arctic Circle, where darkness did not arrive until midnight. Head winds left the plane low on fuel half an hour from its destination, requiring a turnaround and refueling at a small airport. They eventually landed on an island, using the entire runway, and enjoyed great fishing.
