Bob's Chapter

Bob's Pocketbook Politics

told by Robert Ray Guild

Bob describes his practice of voting straight Republican except on local issues. He connects his voting to pocketbook concerns and recalls telling politicians that giving money to someone who did not earn it means taking it from someone who did.

In the family's own words

Except for local issues, I have always voted straight Republican. (Got to vote the pocket book, you know!) I have always told politicians that I have talked to over the years to remember one thing, “Anytime you give money to someone who didn’t earn it, you took it away from someone who did earn it.”
