She recalls enjoying Little Women, The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew, Nancy Drew mysteries, and Bernie and Bob's Hardy Boys books. Reading a good novel remains her favorite thing to do.

To this day, reading a good novel is my favorite thing to do. My favorite books then were Little Women and The Five Little Peppers and How They Grew. I also read the Nancy Drew mystery stories. Bernie and Bob had copies of the Hardy Boys books and I read them, too.
