Hours of Squiggles with Bernie

Bernie entertained the family for hours with Squiggles, a two-person drawing game. Each player uses a differently colored pencil to scribble on paper, then exchanges papers with the other player. Within about two minutes, each must turn every bit of the received squiggle into a picture. Ingenuity matters more than artistic ability.

Bernie would amuse us for hours playing this game. This is a game for two people, each of whom should have a piece of paper, and a colored pencil different in color from the other player’s. Each player scribbles very quickly on his piece of paper; the more abstract the squiggle, the better. Players then exchange papers and set themselves a time limit of about two minutes in which they must use every bit of the squiggle to make a picture. Ingenuity is more important than artistic ability.
