Little Tea Sets and Dreams of a Welcoming Home

First born. First daughter.

AND SO, IN THE BEGINNING, in the early years, there was Mom and Dad and me, Iris Lee. I don’t recall lots of things before Bobby and Bernie were born except I had my own room. Later, I was to look back on that as a real neat treat. Uncle Lloyd would mysteriously come and go and always brought me little gifts. China dishes. Several sets. I loved them and treasured them. I kept them all in their original boxes and packed them carefully away after playing house. I’ve always been a dreamer and did a lot of make believe. The tea sets were the perfect tool for a little daydreamer. I imagined myself all dressed in lovely clothes dancing to pretty music and serving tea to beautiful people. I’ve never stopped daydreaming. With God’s help, a good husband, and good fortune I’ve come to realize those childhood day dreams. I do entertain lovely and beautiful people. I’ve been blessed with good friends all my life, and a lovely home in which to entertain them. I am doubly blessed with great and loving brothers and sisters.
